says the boyfriend. Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. I haven't been here all day and this is what sent you into a great depression this afternoon????
First of all, I'm a great optimist (or I live in a fantasy world and as the boyfriend says) and he's a great pessimist. Why are we together you ask? Well, you can't really have the extreme of both because either you'll turn out like him, extremely depressed about the economy and people or you'll be like me who (sometimes) doesn't have a care in the world except for what's right in front of me.
The boyfriend says the economy is collapsing.
Okay, I say, but we survived through the Great Depression, we'll survive this one.
The boyfriend says, "the human race is going to become extinct and the only solace that I find is that I won't live forever" (I know super depressing shit).
I say, Don't you think Thinkers, Philosophers, Scientists etc. have said all of this before? It's cyclical. Everything will be okay.
He says "That's the kind of thinking that isn't going to change anything and that's why we're going to die."
It will all be okay. For reals. Just go with it. I say.
Poor guy. While I'm stressing about the 3 papers and 2 exams I have over the course of the next week and a half, he's reading BBC news. I came home to him lying in bed with a depressed look on his face. He says, I'm thinking.
Anytime this is uttered I know something must be wrong and I should leave the room pronto. Either I have done something to aggravate him or there is something wrong with the World. Today, there is something wrong with the World that needs deep concentration and thought.
He'll be okay, no worries.
Geez

I ♥ New Socks
Today I'm going to attempt to get out of the funk I've been in. For the past week or so I've been exhausted. Any chance I've gotten I have taken a nap. I'm not getting sick (at least I hope not), but I'm just so tired! It has nothing to do with the fact that I'm working 20-25 hours a week and taking 15 credit hours! :)
Today I'm going to start drinking lots of water and this day will mark the first day of starting to work out again. I was pretty good toward the end of last semester. I would go work out 3 times a week and then the summer came and I stopped. I even paid $50 to the gym at school so I could use my membership over the summer. How many times did I go? Maybe 3 or 4 times. Definitely got my money out of that, don't ya think?
So, a new pair of workout pants (I wore holes in my last pair. Definitely not from working out. It's bad when your workout pants become your "fat pants".), new socks, Alice Sebold's book Lucky, a charged iPod, and a bottle of water and I'm ready to hit the elliptical and weight machines! I'm going to try really hard to keep up with this. I've pretty much got my routine down with homework, so I should be able to put 3 days of workouts in, right?
