While procrastinating successfully puts off what I don't want to do, what I need to do always gets done...eventually.
The visit home was perfect. I could have spent a little more quality time with Classy and my mom, but other than that was nice. No shopping marathons and no excessive drinking. Lots of encouragement for our new kick ass bodies, though.
I spent some time with my father, which is always sort of awkward, mainly because he's an awkward man, but also because I have resentment towards him that is hard to get around sometimes.
Also, spent some time with my mom's side of the family. We seem to be getting along just fine after a year and a half without my grandmother. I was explaining to my father that it's weird to lose the Matriarch of your family. It's almost a lost sort of feeling because we have no guidance of how to act and even think sometimes. Of course that sounds funny, because we know how to act, but it's just weird. I wish that I could articulate what I mean more easily. Lots of laughing and loving on babies, though. My cousin had twins last month and they are every bit of precious that you could possibly imagine--even though my cousin (their mother) is slightly insane (which could perhaps be an understatement).
The anxiety is starting to hit that I think hits all graduates. It's not that I'm nervous about graduating (maybe a little--and maybe just anxious about all of the questions to come), but it's mainly about all of the stuff that has to be finished before the big day. I'm supposed to be writing a paper right now, you see. However, I am not, obviously. It's easy and I love what I'm writing about, but I feel like these keys on my keyboard are extremely hard to press down and I can't get my thoughts out. Senior-itis is what they call this, I think. This semester has been awesome and I've loved all my classes, but finishing is super hard. I have 3 weeks left of classes, then 1 week of exams, then graduation. Eeek.
And if I couldn't complain more, work is really sucking right now. As I've told you before, I've been trying to transition completely to serving. My scheduling manager, however, has not been working as hard to make that transition happen. Long story short, I'm not getting the shifts I wanted, and it sucks. Don't f with my money. AND I'm trying my hardest to go to Savannah, GA after graduation with some family, but my mother informed me today that, if I don't have the money to go, I might have to make a sacrifice and stay home. Boooo. Happy Graduation to me. I know I can't complain a whole lot because she took me to Cali, but c'mon. So you can see my financial dilemma.
So thanks for being my stress-relievers tonight. Even if this post was super boring and really hard to follow, I thank you all!
Wish me luck....I need all I can get.

Date night!
Last week I asked the boyfriend to take me on a date sometime soon. I know, you're wondering, "Why do you have to ask for a date?" Well, seeing as how he and I have been together for 2.75 years, we've gotten into a routine as all couples tend to do, and we don't really do things like that very much. We seem to always find time to go to Wing Night with all of our friends and we used to go to $7 Pitchers of Beer Night over the summer. Somehow, though, time with each other, where we aren't sitting in front of the tv or sitting in separate rooms, is nill. It's sad when spending time together turns into not.
I know there are other activities that we can do that don't cost money and we do those things! We go hiking and camping every now and then, we walk the dogs together a lot, we make meals together, watch movies, etc. However, sometimes it is really nice to go out to dinner and enjoy time that way. A lack of money probably has something to do with the frequency of activities like this, so that's why when we actually do have "Date Nights" it makes it extra special! Ohhh life as a 22 year old.
So tonight, the boyfriend got his shift picked up, and we are going on a date! Dinner at a good local Ribs place and then afterwards a piano concert on campus (which is technically an assignment for a class, but one can always use a little bit of Culture). :)

Hung Over As Hell
Here we are at 3:30 in the afternoon and I'm STILL hungover from last nights festivities.
I have a new found friendship with my bosses wife, J. She's awesome. She's 32 and has 3 kids and doesn't even look like she's had three children! So when my boss asked me to take her out for a drink last night because she was exhausted and had a shitty day at work, I was like Sure! So I left work at about 10:30 to go home and put something on that didn't smell of fried food and then went to go pick her up.
I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing that our most frequented bar is the one behind our restaurant, it's convenient that's for sure. This is the bar we chose to sit our asses at until 2:30 this morning. 4 Gin and Sprites, and 3 shots later.....The boyfriend has to come pick me up. Since my last shot was at 2:15 right before last call, I was STILL getting drunk when I got home.
We had a blast though... J told me stuff about my boss that I probably shouldn't know, her brother came and contributed to our drunkeness by giving us another shot (SoCo and Lime), and little by little work people started showing up just in time for me to go home!
I was supposed to work tonight but there is no way in hell I'm going. I called in at 1:00. After hanging on the toilet for dear life all morning I can't work until 2 tonight. There's just no way.
So I hope your day is better than mine. I'll probably crawl back in bed to sleep more of this off. :(

No Apologies
I make none. I'm blunt and honest. Sometimes brutally honest, but hey, if someone isn't who will be?
The sole purpose of this blog is to be frank about the goings ons of life, that I can promise you. I'm a twenty somethings girl and have a love for life and here will reside the stories of what happens when the sun goes down.
No worries, I will not try to be a Carrie Bradshaw knock-off. I have no sex advice. I'm hours away from my best friend. I have a steady boyfriend whom I live with (which could make this anonymous blog thing interesting). I have 1 more year of college left and then off to grad school--- eeeek. I have a love for shoes, purses, clothes, good food and company. I work in a restaurant and probably drink too much because of it!
People you should know that I will talk about frequently are:
Classy Stiletto-- aka best friend who lives too far away. We've grown up together and share pretty much the same views on everything. No matter how many other friends come and go, she's one that I could never get tired of or lose contact with!
Classy's Long-term boyfriend-- he's pretty much your all-american guitar playing, heavy metal, head banging kinda guy.
My boyfriend-- I'll probably give this guy all sorts of nicknames some kosher and others not depending on the mood of the day! I love him with all my heart. He wishes he could be a full-time student. He's your modern day hippie kind of guy I suppose. He showers. :)
My mom-- She's an absolutely amazing woman. She's young and not your typical mom-type. She cusses a lot, consequently so do I. I'll probably mention her at some point.
Biologist friend-- she's a rock. She and I have many campfire nights in her back yard where we drink too much homemade wine and/or margaritas and talk about all the things your mother doesn't want you to know about or talk about.
This is my life. Grab your favorite beverage and enjoy!
