Procrastination...

While procrastinating successfully puts off what I don't want to do, what I need to do always gets done...eventually.

The visit home was perfect. I could have spent a little more quality time with Classy and my mom, but other than that was nice. No shopping marathons and no excessive drinking. Lots of encouragement for our new kick ass bodies, though.

I spent some time with my father, which is always sort of awkward, mainly because he's an awkward man, but also because I have resentment towards him that is hard to get around sometimes.

Also, spent some time with my mom's side of the family. We seem to be getting along just fine after a year and a half without my grandmother. I was explaining to my father that it's weird to lose the Matriarch of your family. It's almost a lost sort of feeling because we have no guidance of how to act and even think sometimes. Of course that sounds funny, because we know how to act, but it's just weird. I wish that I could articulate what I mean more easily. Lots of laughing and loving on babies, though. My cousin had twins last month and they are every bit of precious that you could possibly imagine--even though my cousin (their mother) is slightly insane (which could perhaps be an understatement).

The anxiety is starting to hit that I think hits all graduates. It's not that I'm nervous about graduating (maybe a little--and maybe just anxious about all of the questions to come), but it's mainly about all of the stuff that has to be finished before the big day. I'm supposed to be writing a paper right now, you see. However, I am not, obviously. It's easy and I love what I'm writing about, but I feel like these keys on my keyboard are extremely hard to press down and I can't get my thoughts out. Senior-itis is what they call this, I think. This semester has been awesome and I've loved all my classes, but finishing is super hard. I have 3 weeks left of classes, then 1 week of exams, then graduation. Eeek.

And if I couldn't complain more, work is really sucking right now. As I've told you before, I've been trying to transition completely to serving. My scheduling manager, however, has not been working as hard to make that transition happen. Long story short, I'm not getting the shifts I wanted, and it sucks. Don't f with my money. AND I'm trying my hardest to go to Savannah, GA after graduation with some family, but my mother informed me today that, if I don't have the money to go, I might have to make a sacrifice and stay home. Boooo. Happy Graduation to me. I know I can't complain a whole lot because she took me to Cali, but c'mon. So you can see my financial dilemma.

So thanks for being my stress-relievers tonight. Even if this post was super boring and really hard to follow, I thank you all!

Wish me luck....I need all I can get.

I love other people's 21st birthdays

Ha. Well, tonight.. at midnight.. was a girl that i work with's birthday (yes, I know that sentence doesn't make any sense.)  Either way, I managed to get 2 drinks bought for me and I didn't even have cleavage showing!  So, a little intoxicated, here i am, blogging.

Christmas was fantastic.  Much needed time was spent with my madre and Classy.  Two nights "out on the town" one of which was an awful night at Hooters that I will later blog about.

New Years was fun....until I drank wine, light beer, dark beer, and then Jager...and then...passed the F out.  As always, I rock at the alcohol choices.  My mother always asks me, "When will you learn?"  One day.. when someone isn't successful in convincing me that taking ANOTHER shot is a good idea, then maybe i'll learn!

Happy Freaking New Years, though.

I start my last semester of my undergraduate career on the 15th, so I'll be living it up until then.  After that, it's back to the grind, unfortunately.

Love ya'll

California Dreamin'

For Thanksgiving my mother and I will be flying out, for a week, to California!!! There will many wineries involved. My Uncle and his wife live out there (and we're so close in age it's like he's my older brother)so, we'll be staying with them! There are 50 days until we leave and I can't wait!!! A vacation is something that I'm in desperate need of, and my mom and I are going to have such a great time getting Drrruuunk together! So stay tuned for the excitement that will ensue.

No Apologies

I make none. I'm blunt and honest. Sometimes brutally honest, but hey, if someone isn't who will be?

The sole purpose of this blog is to be frank about the goings ons of life, that I can promise you. I'm a twenty somethings girl and have a love for life and here will reside the stories of what happens when the sun goes down.

No worries, I will not try to be a Carrie Bradshaw knock-off. I have no sex advice. I'm hours away from my best friend. I have a steady boyfriend whom I live with (which could make this anonymous blog thing interesting). I have 1 more year of college left and then off to grad school--- eeeek. I have a love for shoes, purses, clothes, good food and company. I work in a restaurant and probably drink too much because of it!

People you should know that I will talk about frequently are:

Classy Stiletto-- aka best friend who lives too far away. We've grown up together and share pretty much the same views on everything. No matter how many other friends come and go, she's one that I could never get tired of or lose contact with!
Classy's Long-term boyfriend-- he's pretty much your all-american guitar playing, heavy metal, head banging kinda guy.
My boyfriend-- I'll probably give this guy all sorts of nicknames some kosher and others not depending on the mood of the day! I love him with all my heart. He wishes he could be a full-time student. He's your modern day hippie kind of guy I suppose. He showers. :)
My mom-- She's an absolutely amazing woman. She's young and not your typical mom-type. She cusses a lot, consequently so do I. I'll probably mention her at some point.
Biologist friend-- she's a rock. She and I have many campfire nights in her back yard where we drink too much homemade wine and/or margaritas and talk about all the things your mother doesn't want you to know about or talk about.

This is my life. Grab your favorite beverage and enjoy!
