Procrastination...

While procrastinating successfully puts off what I don't want to do, what I need to do always gets done...eventually.

The visit home was perfect. I could have spent a little more quality time with Classy and my mom, but other than that was nice. No shopping marathons and no excessive drinking. Lots of encouragement for our new kick ass bodies, though.

I spent some time with my father, which is always sort of awkward, mainly because he's an awkward man, but also because I have resentment towards him that is hard to get around sometimes.

Also, spent some time with my mom's side of the family. We seem to be getting along just fine after a year and a half without my grandmother. I was explaining to my father that it's weird to lose the Matriarch of your family. It's almost a lost sort of feeling because we have no guidance of how to act and even think sometimes. Of course that sounds funny, because we know how to act, but it's just weird. I wish that I could articulate what I mean more easily. Lots of laughing and loving on babies, though. My cousin had twins last month and they are every bit of precious that you could possibly imagine--even though my cousin (their mother) is slightly insane (which could perhaps be an understatement).

The anxiety is starting to hit that I think hits all graduates. It's not that I'm nervous about graduating (maybe a little--and maybe just anxious about all of the questions to come), but it's mainly about all of the stuff that has to be finished before the big day. I'm supposed to be writing a paper right now, you see. However, I am not, obviously. It's easy and I love what I'm writing about, but I feel like these keys on my keyboard are extremely hard to press down and I can't get my thoughts out. Senior-itis is what they call this, I think. This semester has been awesome and I've loved all my classes, but finishing is super hard. I have 3 weeks left of classes, then 1 week of exams, then graduation. Eeek.

And if I couldn't complain more, work is really sucking right now. As I've told you before, I've been trying to transition completely to serving. My scheduling manager, however, has not been working as hard to make that transition happen. Long story short, I'm not getting the shifts I wanted, and it sucks. Don't f with my money. AND I'm trying my hardest to go to Savannah, GA after graduation with some family, but my mother informed me today that, if I don't have the money to go, I might have to make a sacrifice and stay home. Boooo. Happy Graduation to me. I know I can't complain a whole lot because she took me to Cali, but c'mon. So you can see my financial dilemma.

So thanks for being my stress-relievers tonight. Even if this post was super boring and really hard to follow, I thank you all!

Wish me luck....I need all I can get.

What a week!

This week has been absolutely crazy. I felt so pms-y and I'm not even pms-ing. I've just been really emotional. I've cried twice at work this week, it's ridiculous. The first was because we got some crazy snow and ice and the whole parking lot was covered. I was terrified of driving home because, here, we don't get ice and snow much. Consequently, I've never had to learn to drive in it. So I practically, in tears, begged my manager to go home. The second time was tonight. I was basically told that I wasn't doing a good job of running a wait at the door and that two other bitches could do it better than me. I was really insulted because I'm the best damn host they've got. Boo.

And can we talk about Grey's Anatomy??? I cry every time I watch that show. What. The. Hell. Is that the goal of the writers? What plot can we do to make people bawl? Oh well, I'm addicted and can't stop watching just like, Private Practice, Nip Tuck, Kath and Kim, The Office, and 30 Rock. Whoa. I'm a tv junkie.

Anyway, I ended up working out on Tuesday, but in turn forgot about my work study job in the women's studies department. Oops. Wednesday we got snowed out of class, which is funny because there really wasn't much need to. The workout itself was amazing. Haven't been back since Tuesday. Will try tomorrow.

But in general the week was not as dreadful as I had anticipated, just emotional. Ha.

Tomorrow is my day off from everything. No class. No work. Monday night should be my last night of training and then I will switch to hosting. Probably not immediately and probably not completely, because they need me. I hate that.

GUESS WHO'S BACK????

Sir Jerkoffalot.

I couldn't believe my eyes. I walked up to him and was all like "Weeeelcome back to this hell hole. I thought you were leaving it forever." He tried to act all like, "Ohh.. I didn't really want to come back but it was better blah blah blah." Shut up already. He actually went an entire shift without sexually harassing me, I was quite surprised. I got my hopes up too soon, though. I worked with him tonight. 2 comment about my boobs, 1 request to go make out, and 15 comments about how he loves me. Ridiculous.

So, hopefully more blogging in the days to come, but if this week is anything like last week, then that might not happen. Will life be eternally busy like this? I surely hope not. I'm only 22 and I'm f-ing exhausted!!!

Happy Weekend to you all!

Slightly overwhelmed...

Have I mentioned that life is kicking my ass right now? The sickness that I have is an obvious reason, but why is it that I dread this upcoming week? Probably because I have to spend 4 nights of it at a restaurant that runs horribly, but I stay because it makes me stable financially. I wish I could go to school without having to worry about work, but such is life. Sadly it's not even the school work that's overwhelming! I'm loving it. Also, the numbers on the scale have gone up and I'm trying to figure out how a trip to the gym will fit in my ridiculous schedule.

Tomorrow I'm on campus from 10:00a until 7:00p with a couple of hours in between. The workout could potentially happen between one of my classes, which is probably how that's going to work, but by the time I get home, I'm exhausted. Last Monday I was asleep by 10:30, which is early for me. It's sad that 10:20 is early. On a normal night, when I have to work until 12:30, I'm not in bed until 2:30 sometimes 3:00.

It's those extra pounds that are my motivation to get to the gym, but I keep asking myself, "What's it gonna take?" I'm only blaming myself, but I constantly have excuses. The main one being my exhaustion. I know, getting to the gym will energize me and will be fulfilling in so many ways, but again, it's getting there.

Feeling better sinus infection-wise, but definitely not 100%. I read something today that said when you have a sinus infection, sometimes it helps to work out--it clears your head. I don't work tomorrow night, so that's relieving, but for some reason it's knowing at the end of the week, there isn't relaxation like everyone else gets on the weekend. It's only chaos and stress because hostesses get shat on. Funny how they control the business out front and are the face of the restaurant, but they get some much crap from servers. Still two more training sessions to go till I can be a server.

So, in closing my late night pity party, wish me luck this week.

Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

Okay, so I may be exaggerating a little. Today, I slept in until 12:30 almost 1:00. Normally, this wouldn't be a bad thing because I need the rest, but I got almost 13 hours of sleep all because I didn't want to get out of bed and face the day! All I really needed to do today was laundry, dishes, revise a Spanish and Sociology paper, and write a 5-page Sociology paper! So far, I've revised the Spanish and Sociology papers, and I have a paragraph of the 5-pager. On top of sleeping in until said times, I lied on the couch for a few hours and watched Scrubs episodes that I had Tivo-ed. I was just stuck. Everyone feels this way sometimes, I suppose. Today it was just really hard to get out of it. Instead of behaving like an alcoholic and having an adult beverage to take the edge off, I visited the gas station down the road and bought 2 candy bars (Butterfinger and Mounds) and a Rootbeer to remedy this situation. I know, probably not a good idea to eat my troubles away, but I thought it was better than alcohol! I just wanted something comforting and since I don't eat a lot of candy, I allowed myself this indulgence. My candy, soda and 2 CSI episodes and I was back on track, and felt like I could finally complete my tasks that I reeeeeeaaaallly didn't want to do earlier in the day. Maybe I'm feeling like this right now because on the 22nd it will have been a year since my amazing grandmother passed away, maybe because this is the first time I've taken 15 credit hours and worked close to 30 hours at the same time, maybe it's because so many people that I know have either died or on the verge of dying, maybe it's because this is a confusing time in my life.... who knows. I know it's okay to feel this way, and I'm staying positive, but it was just a rough day!

On a lighter note, my new best friend has become Pandora. If you've never heard of this website, you should definitely check it out! I'm in love. Some of my bookmarked songs are on the right of my blog, you can click on those too... it will tell you all about the artist and everything! Super fun.

School and Work tomorrow... and Work until Sunday with no break. I've been off for the past 3 days, so it's okay, but I'm seriously burnt out from this job. Buh.

The boyfriend's friend B's girlfriend (got that?) is going to be in town on Friday and we're all going to get 50 cent draft at the bar!! Also, LB (Lazy Bastard) is going to be in town, we're lucky enough, though, he'll be staying at the parentals place because they are out of town for the next 3 weeks in New Zealand (JEALOUS)! Sorry Run-on sentence... I don't care it's my blog, I can do what I want!! haha!

Either way.. Happy Hump Day tomorrow, have a good one!!!
