If you like Will Ferrell and you are looking for another brainless movie, Step Brothers is perfect. I love this scene. It might not be as funny outside of the rest of the movie, but it's cool--not offended if you don't find it hilarious like I do.
Soooooo.....
I've got to remedy this situation where I suck as a blogger. I'm ashamed of my lack of blogs and sad that I haven't given you all much to read and sad, too, that I may have lost what few readers I have. :( Please don't leave me! Okay, I'm not that pathetic, but seriously. Please!?
The stress of finishing my college career left me ill. I mean physically sick with the swine flu or whatever else is floating around in the germ-y air. So, yet again I've had the plague. This time it only lasted 3 weeks. I'm still hacking a little bit (cute, I know), but lots better than I was. I traveled around with the illness and didn't really give my body much time to heal, so the past 2 weeks that I've been back at my house, I've been trying to get better. Finally I am. Finally I feel like leaving my cave and getting out in the sun. It's sad when you don't feel like leaving the house.
News? Since my I've received my piece of paper that certifies me "smart", I feel kind of weird. No papers to write? No deadlines to meet? No readings about Gender? I'm so confused what people do when they aren't in school! So, I've been quite lazy. The boyfriend hasn't appreciated it quite so much. Oh well. Suck it Trebek.
So this is my life. Trying to get organized, do last minute doctors' appointments because I lose my health insurance soon, study for the GRE, take the GRE, and get my car fixed (story to come later). Hopefully lots more time to blog.
I f-ing miss you guys!

Slightly overwhelmed...
Have I mentioned that life is kicking my ass right now? The sickness that I have is an obvious reason, but why is it that I dread this upcoming week? Probably because I have to spend 4 nights of it at a restaurant that runs horribly, but I stay because it makes me stable financially. I wish I could go to school without having to worry about work, but such is life. Sadly it's not even the school work that's overwhelming! I'm loving it. Also, the numbers on the scale have gone up and I'm trying to figure out how a trip to the gym will fit in my ridiculous schedule.
Tomorrow I'm on campus from 10:00a until 7:00p with a couple of hours in between. The workout could potentially happen between one of my classes, which is probably how that's going to work, but by the time I get home, I'm exhausted. Last Monday I was asleep by 10:30, which is early for me. It's sad that 10:20 is early. On a normal night, when I have to work until 12:30, I'm not in bed until 2:30 sometimes 3:00.
It's those extra pounds that are my motivation to get to the gym, but I keep asking myself, "What's it gonna take?" I'm only blaming myself, but I constantly have excuses. The main one being my exhaustion. I know, getting to the gym will energize me and will be fulfilling in so many ways, but again, it's getting there.
Feeling better sinus infection-wise, but definitely not 100%. I read something today that said when you have a sinus infection, sometimes it helps to work out--it clears your head. I don't work tomorrow night, so that's relieving, but for some reason it's knowing at the end of the week, there isn't relaxation like everyone else gets on the weekend. It's only chaos and stress because hostesses get shat on. Funny how they control the business out front and are the face of the restaurant, but they get some much crap from servers. Still two more training sessions to go till I can be a server.
So, in closing my late night pity party, wish me luck this week.

Buh.
Plague round 50 million. When I was sick a little while ago, I didn't go to the doctor. I self medicated on Mucinex, I got better eventually. But this shit is back. I was terrified that I had strep because people at work have been getting it, so I went to the Student Health Clinic on campus today. Lo and behold. I have a sinus infection. So, the nurse prescribed an antibiotic, and suggested to continue my use of Mucinex on top on Sudafed. Exciting. No work for me tonight. I've been in bed since 2:00 this afternoon and I'm starting to get bored, but the rest of my house is cold. We keep the thermostat on 68 degrees, brrrr.
Fun stories from work?
We hired this new host who happens to be pregnant. No big deal except for the fact that she thought she had to hide it. We could talk about a couple different things here, but first and foremost the fact that she feared she wouldn't be hired. I assured her that they couldn't refuse to hire on that basis, but the truth is, they can. They don't have to give her a reason, but the sad truth is that it happens all the time. She gets a little more fascinating than this, though.
The baby's daddy is in jail and she has a restraining order against him. I found this out from my new honest friend because the "baby daddy's" brother came into the bar. Ohh.. it gets better. She tells me all this and then she says, "I need a cigarette." Really? You? Wow. I looked at her with the sort of look that any normal human being would give her given the affects smoking has on babies. She says, "I know, I know, people keep telling me that I shouldn't, but I don't care."
The kicker here is that she doesn't just smoke, she takes pills and drinks. And brags about it. BRAGS. So, when she tells me that she's 4 months along and she thinks that she's having contractions, I just kind of look at her funny, because #1 I don't know enough to know if that's possible this early in her pregnancy and #2 because my first hunch is maybe the stuff you're putting in your body is BAD. Hmm..
Get this, though. Her new bf is a line cook who's on work release with the jail. Also, the word is that he's also an informant for the cops to lessen his time in jail. Informant for what? Drugs. If you've ever worked in a restaurant, you know what I'm talking about. What's he in jail for? $10,000 in back pay for child support! He's definitely a winner.
Where do these people come from?

I've been MIA... I know
I promise to do a little catch up this week and post some of the things that have been cooking in my head.
Also, I realize I've been bad at not acknowledging the many awards I've received in the last month! I apologize! Recompense to come, I promise!!
I hope your week/weekend has been fantastic!!

Pass me the Kleenex
Well, it has happened. I've gotten the head cold that I get every year. I guess it is the weather changes that are causing it, but it's pissing me off. I've been trying to be healthier the past few weeks (drinking more water, hot tea, eating right, vitamins etc.) and here it is-- the nastiness that has taken over my nose, face and head. I feel as though my head is a in vice grip. Buh.
Hope your day has been better than mine!
Happy Hump Day!!
27 days till Cali!
